I'm looking to buy a new puter
I'm looking for a laptop, just for basic use like study, internet and playing some music. Not too expensive
can anyone suggest a good puter to buy and what I should be watching out for?

Im told you are better to put your music on a pocket-drive or you can get some big USB sticks ::)dont buy a second hand laptop that has a DVD-CD writer that has been used for Pirating Music or Movies it will be more trouble than its worth

o/h has a HP pavillion entertainment...it came with vista , and she seems happy with it...for what she does (which is different to me)...photos , movies , music , dvd's ,cam chat with friends/family...she seems happy with it...she never told me the price , so around $1500 i'm guessing ?...better than causing an arguement

You can get laptops from $899 upwards. I'd be looking at around the $1200 mark for a decent one if I was you and I'm pretty sure Harvey Norman are having a computer clearance this weekend if that's any help to you.

:DNo argument here Player just points of views. When I bought my PC I was looking to custom build a PC with all the best bits I guess i got tired of trying to save all the money for all the bits and their changing prices. So $100 down on a Warehouse Dell in the morning and I was surfing in the afternoon. It ran for 3 years without opening the case ::)after which i upgraded to 1gig of ram >:(apart from one reformat in 4years due to a young relative watching porn without my knowledge its been good.
