FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Population
Q: How to get more population?
A: At the start of every day you receive 2 population. There are technologies that also help you raise your population per day or give you some population instantly. One more way is to receive 3 gifts per day, this will give you 1 population as soon as you get the third gift. Receive 10 gifts, you get 2 population for that day.
Q: What is overcrowding?
A: Your population's birth rate is reduced after you reach a certain population total. This mechanism is designed to reduce the population difference between old and new players.
Q: How to prevent overcrowding?
A: You can develop appropriate technologies to reduce it, but you can't prevent it completely. The technologies, if applied in a timely manner, do help tremendously. You can keep your population growth at a point you like if you carefully consider which plus population per day technology to buy when. This tactic can make a large difference in how you build your empire.
Q: How overcrowding reduction technologies work?
A: You get -1 overcrowding each 60 population (so for 120 population you get -2). Each overcrowding reduction technology let you have additional +30 population before triggering the initial overcrowding (meaning it starts at 60, 90, 120, 150).
Overcrowding Table
Economy
Q: I have 10 marketplaces and 24 palace size but merchants show only...
A: The formula is: merchants = 10 + (palace/3) + marketplaces.
Q: How is tax calculated?
A: it consist on variable element = (population*tax base) +2% per palace
and constant element = (mills*100) + 600
Tax base is 2 at the beginning and can be increased by technologies.
Sovereigns & vassals
Q: What is a sovereign and vassals? How to they help me?
A: A sovereign is a person you chose to be something similar to your King. It benefits you in that if he/she logs in every day you receive 10 economy points, which equals one diamond.
A vassal is someone who has chosen you as their Sovereign. You both benefit from this. They get the benefits listed above. If your vassal signs in every day, you receive 2 economy points. These of course go towards diamonds at the end of the day.
Factions & Kingdoms
Q: How do I create a faction?
A: First leave your current faction, if you are in one. Go to the faction list, then to the faction tab and click on it.
You will see the faction list. On the bottom will be a field to enter a name of your faction.
Enter the name you want. No spaces are allowed in Faction name, use an underscore. Also if the name you choose doesn't work read the error message if one comes up, it may tell you what you need to change. Then click faction.
You have created your faction. Since you created your faction you are automatically leader of the faction and have control of player’s ranks that join.
Q: How do I get My faction to grow?
A: Stay active. Post in the diplomacy room in the Inn. Personally invite players to join. It takes time and some energy to build a faction.
Q: How do I create a Kingdom?
A: Go to you Faction Throne room. Under the Kingdom section you can create the name of your Kingdom. If you created the Kingdom your faction will have the power(rank) of 9 while all others that join will be a 1.
Q: How do I join a Kingdom?
A: If you want to join a Kingdom enter then name of the Kingdom in the field next to join. Then click join.
You should contact the Leader of the first listed Faction of that Kingdom so they can accept your faction as an ally.
Q: How do I gain Influence and what is Influence?
A: Influence is gained by voting on the web sites under the vote tab. No one will harass you or send you e-mails for voting. Voting only promotes the game. Click on the Vote tab. There you will see 4 sites to vote on. Click on a site, when the page loads click vote. Close the page and repeat the process for each voting site. There are also rewards for voting, which are explained on the vote page.
You gain 1 influence for yourself for each site you vote on. If you are in a Faction every vote each player makes is tallied together to create a Faction Influence.
Battle
Q: How are my Attack and Defense calculated?
A: The formula is as follows, Shown Attack/Defense Power = ((Base Power * Troops experience) + (Sum of tech bonuses e.g. Lance formation, Fortifications)) + Barracks Bonus
Q: Every time I attack a player, I keep on getting a fortification bonus of -50%.
A: Fortification bonus means that the defender has more walls than you have battering rams. Buying more battering rams can fix this.
Q: What leadership bonus is?
A: Leadership bonus increases (if positive) or decreases (if negative) the power of your forces during battle. Leadership is affected by general, palace size and some technologies.
Q: What morale bonus is?
A: Morale bonus increases (if positive) or decreases (if negative) the power of your forces during battle. Morale depends on glory difference between attacker and defender.
Q: How comes that one can attack me 10 times per hour? I thought the limit was 6 per hour?
A: Only successful attacks count.
Technologies
Q: I see two technologies I can purchase. One says I get X% the other says X% immediately. What is the difference?
A: The technology that DOES NOT include the word IMMEDIATELY will apply over the entire game. For example, if you purchase a technology that gives you X% more defense, that will be recalculated each time your base defense changes. However, if it says IMMEDIATELY, it is a one time application. For example, you purchase a technology that gives you X% glory IMMEDIATELY, it is applied right then but only then. You will only receive whatever the bonus is to the current glory you have right now. It does not continue to be added. So, as you can see, some technologies that say IMMEDIATELY may be better to purchase at a later time that the ones that do not.
Q: With the abundance tech... Which benefits MUST I use today?
A: You can store up to 200 turns, 5 gifts. Everything above that will be brought down to these values at the end of tick (turns) or at the end of day (gifts) if you exceed them.
Interface & Symbols
Q: What does the * and the + mean?
A: You will see these marks after a player’s name. The * means the player has logged in at some point during the day. The + means the players has logged in within the last 3 days. If there is nothing after their name, they have not been on in last 3 days and can be considered inactive
