Hey Roadhog, are you a member of the NZ train enthusiasts thingie, where they travel around different parts of NZ by train and hold "specials" for that group? Where a whole bunch of you travel on the same train....if that makes sense

No, Caronz. Have only been a member of the New Zealand Railway and Locomotive society (lapsed about 20 years ago) Goldfields Railway (current) and Railway Enthusiasts Society (lapsed about 20 years ago) Yogismum's 44th birthday present from me was a ride from Auckland to Taumarunui behind this engine. Ka942 "Nigel Bruce"

Havnt been on a train pulled by Ja1271... only Ja1250 at Glenbrook, as well as from Auckland to Hamilton about 15 years ago. Those engines were greyhounds in their day, hauling expresses at around 60-80mph on the Canterbury Plains and in the North Waikato

;DMe think maybe a place called the Reefs but i could be wrong.. Last time i was on the Taieri Gorge train it didn't stop at Mount Allen. It Just looks bit like where we stopped last time
