You know the one thing I did wrong at an interview was, I PRESUMED they knew things, I didnt go into it in depth, it was all so obvious to me... of course I would do that, thats basic stuff. But you can be after jobs that joe bloggs off the street is also applying for, or being forced to attend an interview thanks to winz etc. An effective cover letter should explain the reasons for your interest in the organization and in the job you are applying for. Another job I applied for I started it out with...
If youre looking for a team player, someone with a good sense of humour and at the same time someone who appreciates detail, time restraints & honesty... then I am all those things...
Hi I'm **** and I am writing to apply for the job of....
Then I went onto the job description
They sent me a reply saying ty I was their 2nd choice, I got another job, a few weeks later they offered me that job, the one they employed left 3 weeks after starting lol
Pays to sell yourself high powered job or not

If you've been involved with kindy school committees, etc, get a reference letter from the powers that be If you helped get something up & running put it in writing If you were on a fundraising group, detail it You may think you havent used skills but you have

that is different caro...I never would have thought to start a letter like that...thanks...oh and yes I have remembered to put down the committee stuff...keep thinking I haven't got recent experience etc....but I actually do it everyday....
