I turned out on Anzac day
very pleasing to see the number of ones many years Junior to some Of the remaining returned service men & women that turned out to either march or be bused & even some pushed in wheel chairs..
late back to RSA for the rest of the service .. Quite humbling here of men or women in times of war.. Then much later I was sitting with one of the returned service men, whom is in his late 80's .. & As he said his memory not so good theses day. But he then as a young man of maybe 20 of to war leaving his wife & 2 baby sons behind. He said I was never so scared in all my life as I was then. I knew how scared I was cause I did my own washing
I knew what these were for & showed me his hands, he went on to say they were for digging
Ain't we glad to be here, for what these men gave up for Peace in the world,.. I look at a picture of a late family member on my wall unit & it bring a tear to the eye . he has sort of smile on his face. But his arm in sling with 1/2 arm missing.
so many things seem so minor in reality these days.. wouldn't one have to agree..??

Amazing ppl alright A good family friend, who passed away last year, was a prisoner of war. He never told any stories. Imagine living with those memories He lived to be in his nineties
