Lake Tekapo, surrounding area covered in snow. Taken from a Tourist flight, looking north , you can't see Tekapo village , as it is behind the hill where the lake is closest to camera

when there is snow on the ground, and a southerly wind is blowing, you could be excused for thinking that. I sat on a bulldozer clearing snow from tracks and making tracks for stock, for 8 hours a day, 14 days straight, and the temperature never rose above zero. go forward till the tracks froze, then back up in top gear to dislodge the ice from the sprockets, then continue. There was 4 feet of the white sh!t .
