For me...
Click start button, Programmes, Accessories, System Tools - Defragment
Before I defrag, I clean out IE temp folders. To do that open IE, click on tools, internet options, then delete.... I also do disk clean up, scans etc first.
Then wahla... Faster pc
Good luck

Open my computer icon, right click on hard drive, disk clean up comes up, do that making sure ALL boxes are ticked. Then follow through with what it says (are you sure you want to do this etc), just go for it and clean up disk(s) Then on same page that is openafter disk clean up is done, look for tab that says TOOLS, open it (usually 2nd tab in) then defrag. If comp says it doesn't need defragging, just go ahead and do it anyway.
If you don't want to go thru all that, download auslogics defragger.

That would depend on :-
1/ size of HDD 2/ how many files to check 3/ speed of processor 4/ amount of RAM

Go download auslogics defragger, takes about half an hour and does a better job. Disk clean up will take about half an hour, depending on how bad your comp is and how big hard drive is.

But...but...but...do I really wanna download more stuff when the comp already has it all, I just gotta learn how to use it all

Yes you do ;D
Where windows defragger can and does take hours to go through the process, the other one takes a fraction of the time and will not hang/freeze your computer if you try to do anything worthwhile when defrag is being done
