The posted "power back on at" time is always a supreme act of faith and differs depending on what they find or stuff up during the maintenance time.
But, remember, if it happened up North it would be a major disaster and in the evening news.

Very true, here, everyone either waited it out, or went to the pubs or cafe's up the main street (Power Co. has a large generator in main street, running all the businesses on main st) Or, like we did, break out the Barbie

At times the power co's have a lot to answer for. Here they are putting in new pylons, none of them are strung with new wires yet - BUT all of the old smaller pylons are naked, no wires either .............

I was wrong about it being scheduled. apparently a circuit breaker flipped out at Albury sub station, taking out all power from Cave to Bourke's pass, some 15,000 customers , power was restored up to the Fairlie boundary by 9 am. I have not heard what caused the outage. The scheduled outage was going to take place at 2:30, and last for 10 minutes. I don't know whether or not that repair work was carried out, or if they will have to reschedule it, time will tell.
