Today is the start of our road trip, at present we are in Tauranga visiting Kiwi, Sara and Zach ;D
Wouldn't you believe it....Murphy's Law prevailed. Day started out with the heaviest frost so far this year, meaning no water until around 10am, that didn't worry me, ran around in jammies and dressing gown until the pipes thawed out
Then came an exhausted MOTH wanting a hand to get those so and so cows out of their paddock, up the road and into another. Our usually quiet road was a race track for land agents this morning, so an extra pair of hands were needed.
We then had to load the dog house and run onto the trailer to take down to son's place so that he could look after Lass the huntaway working dog..........yep, you guessed it, in the back of the wagon we are taking away needed to go the dog! mutter, mutter....
Lunch time was at 1pm! Then time to finally load up and get away..........but.........it was fair hosing down with rain
A natural shower was had by Granny while MOTH handed out everything to be put in the back of my Scooter (a 3 door Suzuki Escudo 4x4). Finally around 2.15 we left home, in driving rain. Got to Matamata and had brilliant sunshine..................
Called into a servo for gas, went to pay for it, and the very nice (not) guy at the counter tried to charge me 3 times as much for what I put into my wagon . Very politely told him to go and look at the pump, which he did, then came back red faced and charged me the correct amount ($30).
What had happened, was the guy in front of me told cashier he was at pump 9 instead of pump7, he got $78 worth of gas for $30.....
Arrived at our 1st nights host 5 minutes later, what a greeting, we haven't stopped talking since we got here.
Must get going, am being ignorant at the moment
catch you next time
